Refugee Camp Donation Drive, January 2024
Friends of Refugees Providing Education and Empowerment (F.R.E.E.) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to lifting downtrodden refugees through education and empowerment. Their mission is to provide refugee families with the education, help, and resources like food, clothing, furniture, household goods, etc. that they so desperately need.
Refugee families from 70 different countries, speaking more than 90 different languages, have been resettled into the U.S. through joint efforts of the U.N. and the U.S. State Department. Resettlement was chosen as an attempt to resolve humanitarian crises precipitated by horrendous conditions overseas born of religious/ethnic persecution, war and genocide including events such as torture, starvation, sex trafficking, rape, murder and economic discrimination. Since the refugee relocation program began, more than 60,000 refugees have been relocated to Georgia after having spent years in refugee camps overseas.
Assamese community of Georgia has donated few essential items specifically for all the refugee children who are sheltered in Clarkston, GA facility. Our Organization is committed to help and contribute as much as we can in all such humanitarian efforts and we are highly grateful to the management of F.R.E.E. for giving us this opportunity to connect with the beautiful & lovely children who are in great need of help.
